Free the West Memphis Three

May. 4th, 2009 | 10:11 am

Today is the start of West Memphis 3 week, so for those that are unaware of this story, I would like to share it with you.

</div>
Above is a trailer for the documentary film that was done on this case. This is a story of prejudice and fear; where wearing black and listening to heavy metal makes you a devil worshiper likely to commit human sacrifices. Really, the absurdity of this logic would make for some great fiction about the south, but unfortunately this diluted thinking led to the wrongful conviction of 3 boys (one of which is now on death row). I ask you to please become aware of this issue and tell others about it. These guys were put in jail for being different and apparently in West Memphis, Arkansas, that's an acceptable crime

You can watch the above documentary here. Likewise, there was a follow-up film produced in 2000 called Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, which can be watching here. Unfortunately, these (now 30 year old men) are still in jail and one is still fighting for his life on death row.

This is repugnant

Mar. 24th, 2009 | 10:23 pm

((...because forcing people to do a job is such a great idea... especially college students who have enough to deal with. I'd love to know where we will get the money for this massive program when we're already in record debt and the economy has been on life support for decades. Oh wait! They'll just print more money, then we get to foot the bill and the economy gets even worse afterwards. Nevermind :). When will people learn that we already have a plethora of government agencies that are assigned with protecting us from the bad guys (and from ourselves, don't forget)? WE DON'T NEED ONE MORE ALPHABET AGENCY TO DO MORE SHITTY WORK! ))

Senate Rubber Stamps National Enslavement Bill

Paul Joseph Watson
Tuesday, March 24, 2009

The Senate last night rubber stamped a nightmare domestic draft bill that legislates mandatory national service and creates an “army” of at least 7 million civilian enforcers working at the the behest of the government, while also containing language that threatens to ban free speech and the right to protest.

Last week, we reported on the House passage of the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, which was carried with a 321-105 margin vote.

A passage contained in section 6104 of the original House version entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed.” This language has been dropped from the version passed by the Senate.

However, Section 120 of the bill discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.” This part remains in the version passed by the Senate.

Roles which will be staffed by members of the programs, labeled “Required National Service Corps,” include “criminal justice,” “environmental stewardship,” and “public safety”.

Aside from the programs aimed at college students and young people, others will be specifically targeted towards, “Retired and other former law enforcement, fire, rescue, and emergency personnel, and other individuals with backgrounds in disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery.”

The bill was rubber stamped by the Senate last night in a 74 to 14 motion, in what is described as a “procedural vote,” a move that creates “An army dispersed to help with education, health services and the environment, (which) would vastly enlarge the notion of “community organizing,” and allow, as Senator Barbara Mikulski, Democrat of Maryland, said tonight, for about 7 million people to be engaged in such work,” reports the New York Times.

The Senate will meet tomorrow morning to formally ratify the bill and finalize amendments. Call your Senator and demand that at least the mandatory language contained in this bill be removed.

References to the program as the creation of a civilian “army” have dominated mainstream news coverage of the legislation.

7 million members of this civilian “army” equates to about one member for every 50 Americans, a similar figure to the number of East Germans who collaborated with the Stasi and informed on their own citizens during the cold war.

Writer's Block: In a Former Life

Do you believe in reincarnation? If your answer is "yes," describe some of your past lives.

View 501 Answers

Short Answer:
Extraordinary People: The Boy Who Lived Before

Long answer
: In general, I have problems with believing in invisible forces (like the modern belief of how karma operates.. though I'll mention later what explained it for me) and almighty beings.. Not that I think these invisible forces and/or almighty beings can't exist, just that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. So therefore, I can't believe in it.

I was raised around the eastern beliefs of karma, reincarnation, and enlightenment. I was going to write this whole paragraph about how enlightenment makes perfect sense even from a plain (non magical, "everything that exists we can see with our own eyes") POV, but fuck, my hands hurt, so you guys just got saved a whole big schpeel. So anyway, Gods don't make much sense to me because I wonder about where they came from, what they do all day, the point for their existence, etc.. Before I better understood a plain POV of karma, I began questioning it after a while because it didn't make sense to me that there could exist this invisible force of basically checks and balances that would shape my fate - essentially - so that if I pissed on my neighbor's door (and believe me, they're rude and ignorant.. they deserve it!), someone may shit on mine... or maybe I'll fall and bust my lip. All because I didn't smile and take it. Yeah, doesn't make a lick of sense to me because there must be something behind this, and of course I can't wrap my head around that.. but it was Depak Chopra who coincidentally explained karma in a way I could get it. If I punch someone for being an asshole, that affects me mentally. It affects how I choose to view the world. This continued mental philosophy of course will have an effect on my life since my actions will affect those around me and how they treat me. Okay, that I can get.

Unfortunately, I don't think reincarnation can be explained in a non-metaphysical way. But, this I am willing to accept in some ways because I think there are a lot of things that we regard as mystical and unexplainable because we just don't have the technology to explain or understand it. Like acupuncture, for example. I've documented a number of case studies that show it works and it's not a placebo effect (even though *cough* ignorant dickweeds that swear their allegiance to modern medicine - a system that is documented to be the #1 killer in America at worst, and at best, responsible for 100,000 avoidable deaths anually  - will insist up and down that all studies show Acupuncture isn't better than a placebo (hint: they don't read the case studies that come out) *cough*) and acupuncture is supposed to work by directing the flow of energy to fix imbalances. It doesn't happen always, but most times you can feel the energy (Qi) when it's done (and no, it's not my imagination. My imagination isn't so strong that I can feel an effect I'm not even expecting) moving... most of the time it's not very strong, but a few times it has been very strong. The point I'm getting at, is that: acupuncture works even though science can't explain why and when you undergo acupuncture treatment, you can feel the Qi move (this was a surprise for me since in the books I've read about acupuncture, none ever mentioned this).

My father was able to do age-regression (a hypnosis type of psychotherapy used to take people to an earlier part of their lives to figure out the cause of a certain emotional problem) to bring people into - what he believed I guess - was a past life.  Coincidentally, I never did it with him.... I really can't explain why, but I just never did. Jenna did however, and she saw something that makes perfect sense to everyone who knows me well: she saw her and I drinking tea together as women. Of course, that's not very conclusive; it can easily be argued that she saw this because that's what she was expecting to see. But, the stunning thing is, unbeknownts to many, there have been a lot of children that have expressed past lives and details about these lives that they could not possibly have known at such a young age. There was a preview for a documentary I watched at Integrative Nutrition, but I forget what it was called. So for an example of what I'm talking about, see this documentary.

Of course, the existence of reincarnation - I feel - doesn't affect religion any. Some religions mention it, and some don't. I think that most religions are defined by the period they were born in and those who wrote about them. I think that most religions profess the same thing, just in a different flavor. I only say this, because some people feel that if something like reincarnation is real, that it somehow weakens their faith since it's something not explained - or even disbelieved - by their holy scriptures.

ps: I'm too lazy at the moment to add citations for the medical stuff I ranted about. They are of course available upon request since I stand by my word that I can prove everything I talk about.

City drivers must really hate me

Dec. 4th, 2008 | 10:29 am
mood: amusedamused

So this week has been rather crazy and I lost track of time and stuff, so due to that I didn't move my car the day before (see this post for explanation) like usual. Moving your car on the day of is a bitch; absolute bitch. I set out this morning at a little before 8am in hopes that I would magically find a parking spot somewhat close since a lot of people are leaving for work. What I found out, was that the sun is too fucking bright and it makes the difficult task of finding a parking spot even more of a giant pain in the fucking ass. But that's not what this post is about.

While I was driving somewhat slowly - but most likely within the speed limit - Mr. Douche and his wife Mrs. Douche were in their SUV driving to their dead end job and despite the fact that their job is most likely meaningless, they were in a very big hurry to get to it. Lame. Rose will tell you that every time we drive anywhere, someone is blowing their horn because they think they're important and that somehow if I go between 5-and-10mph faster, that they will amazingly get to where they need to get to go on time (or earlier!) despite the fact that:

a) There's no parking
b) There's a 50% chance you'll get stuck behind a car or truck that is double parked (or double parking)
c) It's a big city, and there's lots of people, and so therefore, it's congested
d) Driving faster rarely will get you there faster (trust me, I know. My GPS gives me an ETA of arrival and I've done my share of speeding)

But, it's important to note that Mr. Douche & Mrs. Douche do not realize this and that is why they are The Douches.

So as I was saying.. Mr. Douche was honking at me in his Douche Mobile and so to inform him of how much I cared (none whatsoever), I kindly stopped my car, looked back at him (at which point he honked more) and told him to hold his fucking horses. Mr. Douche decided to honk again because at some point I guess he got confused and thought I did care (I didn't), so I then decided to politely show him exactly how much I cared (none) by honking my horn as well and exclaim "Wow! I can do that too!". At this point, I think Mr. Douche got the point and he stopped honking.

Was that really so hard to understand, Mr. Douche?

Will Obama “Change” The Bush Police State Or Expand It?

Will liberals go back to sleep now the “messiah” has arrived?

Paul Joseph Watson | Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Now that Barack Obama has become the 44th President of the United States we offer a challenge - will those who elected him be able to progress past their fawning idolatry and actually pressure Obama to deliver on his mandate of “change,” or will the architecture of the Bush police state remain in place while the American empire expands?

Obama’s acceptance speech assertion that “change has come to America” is likely to signal the beginning and end of the “change” that millions of Americans naively thought they were voting for.

That’s it folks, the puppet has been rotated. Sorry to be so cynical, but the “change” you thought you were electing is already over and done with. The color of his skin matters about as much as whether he has an R or a D next to his name. The egregious spending will continue, government will balloon in size, American soldiers will be used as cannon fodder for more interventionist wars of the military-industrial complex, U.S. citizens will continue to have their phone calls tapped and their rights curtailed, and the Federal Reserve will continue to rule the financial system with an iron fist while the middle class is squeezed out of existence.

How can Obama claim that “change has come to America” when he hasn’t even set foot in the White House? What specifically has Obama promised to change beside his plan to redecorate the White House?

It seems that a lot of the truthers and activists, as well as the liberal left, seem to have forgotten that the responsibility to “change” America rests with the American people. As Gandhi said, we have to be the change we want to see in the world.

Obama is no messiah, he is a representative, a public servant, for those that elected him into office. Will those that voted for him in the name of changing eight years of Bush administration malfeasance hold his feet to the fire and demand the repeal of the American police state that Bush has crafted, or will they simply go back to sleep and consider their work done simply because another Democrat is in office?

The majority of liberals gleefully supported or simply ignored the bombing of Serbia and the genocidal sanctions against Iraq because of the cult of personality built up around Bill Clinton. Will Obama be another ideologue for the left to associate their power with or will they actually demand that he restore America to the Constitution? Will the left ninny and obsess about non-issues like gay marriage and welfare programs while allowing the Bush police state to remain in place?

Remember, the Democrats were handed the Congress and the Senate in 2006 with a mandate for change. What has changed since that time? Nothing whatsoever. American troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Patriot Act is still in place, phone calls are still being tapped and war criminals who committed impeachable offences still go free.

But in an attempt to avoid being labeled “right-wing racists” and all manner of spurious labels now being carelessly heaped upon anyone who doesn’t follow the herd and bow down at the feet of Lord Obama, we’re going to remain constructive and set Obama, and by extension those that voted for him, some challenges to bring real “change” to America and restore the country to the Constitution and the ideals of the Founders that Obama mentioned in his speech last night.

Let’s be generous and give Obama the whole four years of his initial term to make significant progress on the following issues. Here are some questions about “change” that we are going to be keeping track of until 2012.

- Will Obama repeal Patriot Acts I and II as well as reversing Bush’s signing statement and acknowledging the repeal of the John Warner Defense Authorization Act?

- Will Obama support Dennis Kucinich’s efforts to bring war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and others for deceiving the country into a war or will he protect them against such charges like Nancy Pelosi has done?

- Will Obama bring war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and others for authorizing torture and will the torture of suspects under U.S. detention, a complete violation of both the Constitution and the Geneva Conventions, cease under an Obama administration?

- Will Obama withdraw American troops from Iraq and Afghanistan without sending them away again to bomb another broken-backed third world country in the name of a UN-supported “humanitarian” war?

- Will Obama end the warrantless secret surveillance and phone-taps of American citizens?

- Will Obama follow through on his rhetorical support for the second amendment or will he seek to ban guns as he did in Illinois?

- Will Obama cease his support for the Bush-administration backed banker bailouts, hated by the majority of Americans, and target the real cause of the problem - the Federal Reserve - or will he continue to give taxpayers’ money to banks who are merely hoarding it all for themselves?

- Will Obama seek to continue the militarization of America and preparations for martial law through Northcom and the secret government or will he dismantle the police state that has been constructed over the last eight years by the Bush administration?

There can be no excuses - either Obama will be proven to be a liar or he will, backed by Democratic control of Congress and the Senate, follow through on his mandate for “change”.

People like Congressman Ron Paul are too long in the tooth and have watched too many political campaigns to glibly jump on the bandwagon of political platitudes.

Those caught up in Obama fever who would have otherwise voted for Ron Paul should heed the warnings of Dr. No.

As the coming of the new messiah drew closer, Paul had some sobering reminders for a CNN audience last night, pointing out that Obama will not cut spending, government will get bigger and more intrusive, foreign policy will remain the same and unpopular financial bailouts will continue.

We hope we are wrong, but forgive us for our cynicism, because whatever has emerged from the two-party monopoly in the past has always proven to be the problem - not the solution.

Jack Johnson vs. John Jackson

Nov. 4th, 2008 | 08:21 am
music: Morrissey - I Like You

Lewrockwell.com | 11/04/08

Today, millions of Americans will validate their faith in the secular religion of democracy by going to the polls, as they do every four years, to choose between two basically interchangeable candidates, both of whom were, as always, hand-picked by the power elite because they can be trusted to dutifully perpetuate their system.

The False Choice

This fact is evidenced not only by the similarity of the presidential candidates every four years, but also by the shallowness of mainstream political discourse, where fundamental questions about the power elite’s system are not allowed; rather, acceptable debate is limited to the minutiae of micromanaging the system, to fairly trivial distractions that wouldn’t even be contentious issues in a free society – like gay marriage and stem cell research, and to the personal character of the candidates.

For example, the moral legitimacy of the income tax, or of the federal government extracting about $3 trillion per year from the productive economy, is not discussed; instead, the "debate" is on whether at what income levels to place the tax code’s gradations, whether to slightly raise or lower any of the gradation’s tax rates, or whether this or that expense should qualify for a deduction.

Nor are the moral legitimacy, constitutionality, or the results of the Drug War discussed; instead, the "debate" is limited to whether a certain substance should be a Schedule I or Schedule II drug, whether marijuana should be allowed for patients with certain medical conditions under certain, rigidly stipulated circumstances, or whether the penalties for a certain drug offense should be raised, or remain the same.

Nor are such questions allowed about the "War on Terror," the military-industrial complex, and the medical- and pharmaceutical-industrial complexes, the Federal Reserve, or any other part of the system.

Any major-party presidential candidate who raises such fundamental questions, such as Ron Paul, is ridiculed by "mainstream" (system-perpetuating) politicians and journalists, and is continually dismissed in a self-fulfilling prophecy as a "fringe" candidate with no chance to win.

And third-party candidates, who almost always raise such questions, are crippled by law from raising money or getting ballot access, and are excluded from debates with the major candidates, even if only one or two of them meet some reasonable criteria for inclusion.

Why I am more skeptical of modern medicine than I am of traditional med

Oct. 27th, 2008 | 08:45 am
mood: shockedshocked

I know at least some of my friends ponder as to why in the world I criticise and mistrust alopathy (modern medicine) so much, while simultaneously promoting traditional medicines (traditional chinese medicine, acupuncture, ayurveda, herbalism). This isn't about bias; I make sure my research is never biased. This is simply about the facts:

Many U.S. Hospitals Directly Discourage Breastfeeding
Natural News | Oct. 26, 2008

The majority of hospitals and birth centers in the United States have practices that make it less likely that mothers will breastfeed, according to a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In the first-ever nationwide review of breastfeeding promotion practices in the United States, the CDC sent questionnaires to hospitals and birthing centers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Depending on their answers, institutions were given a score between zero and 100 (perfect).

A total of 2,546 hospitals and 121 birth centers responded to the survey.

The average score among hospitals was 62, while the average score for the smaller, specialized birth centers was 86. Scores were lowest in the South and highest in the West and Northeast. The state with the lowest score was Arkansas, at 48, while New Hampshire and Vermont tied for the high score of 81.

..................................................THIS is what our "superior", "evidence-based", "best that science can give us" modern medical system is giving us? really??

Shocker: infants need breast milk. No, formula is not good enough. Vitamin fortified conventional cow's milk isn't anything close to a whole food, and as such, infant formula is missing a crucial ingredient: GLA.

I am simply in awe of this stupidity.... hospitals actually encourage the use of formula....

See, it's reasons like this that I am so critical of this failing medical paradigm.

Stop the Insanity!

Sep. 4th, 2008 | 08:05 pm
mood: aggravatedaggravated

Dear friends,

I write to you today, to urge you to please please please do not confuse calories with health. Lots of calories, or just a few, do not have anything to do with how healthy something is. Likewise, fat does not make you fat. In reality, raw milk (whole milk that is not pasteurized or homogenized) is much healthier for you than skim milk or any other "low fat" variety of milk or dairy product. Infact, the less milk fat it has, the more likely you are of gaining weight! Instead of looking at the amount of calories in something, take a gander at what's actually in the food; that is where you will find out whether it is healthy or not. Low fat, low cal, low carb... they're ALL BAD FOR YOU because they contain artificial preservatives and chemicals that will just give you any flavor of cancer. Instead, just eat real, whole, foods. That's it. That's the big secret right there!

((in case you're wondering, I fucking hate "nutrition"/"health"/"diet" sites that promote calorie counting or post the amount of calories in a certain meal as if that means a damned thing (it doesn't). That's what set me off. Please, every time someone tries to talk to you about calories, tell them to kindly STFU and stop promoting an 80's fad diet that never worked from the get-go. ))

any questions?

Our election in a nutshell

Aug. 7th, 2008 | 08:52 am
mood: amusedamused

How amazingly coincidental it is that every presidential election we are greeted with more of the same? Instead of getting real candidates that believe in freedom, and believe in actually doing their job, we always get stuck with trash. The two - possibly worst (though really, Hillary vs Giuliani would be bottom of the barrel) - candidates out of the entire crop magically always come out on top with the support of their party. Instead of less war, we're going to have more war, and instead of more freedoms, we will have less. Where has voting for the lesser of the two evils gotten us in the past nearly 3 decades? Nowhere. The "savior" democratic majority in Congress can't even impeach Bush or investigate his election fraud. Everyone's politics are different, but I can assure you one thing: both parties are corrupt, both parties will sell your grandma for a buck, and both parties don't give a damn about anything but globalism and profiteering. It doesn't matter who wins this election, because we'll just see more of the same. More glossing over voting fraud, more loss of liberties, more war, more ignoring the Federal Reserve (which means we'll always have a shitty economy), and more bullshit black ops. I ask you, to put your faith not in parties, but in knowledge. Understand what is really going on, stop buying this party line bullshit, and stop supporting these lame duck candidates.
